PR
For businesses that need a well targeted boost, I offer an affordable solution for one-off projects or ongoing PR. I work with local and national media, bloggers, trade press and the wider media, finding the right places for your business to be seen, whilst building up mutually beneficial relationships. I find newsworthy stories in the most unlikely of places and always go the extra mile to find great ways of positively promoting clients.
My service incorporates competitions, awards submissions, media relations, events, features, strategy and coordinating PR with social media activity.
Most of my clients are retained to ensure ongoing coverage, and I am always happy to get involved with a one off project or campaign.
Copywriting
The name, ‘In The Right Order’ was born of my love of working with words – for me it’s a pleasure, not a chore. With a track record of producing quality copy for a variety of media, I make sure that every word is used effectively and creatively, whether I’m writing a press release, feature article, blog, newsletter, script, case study, brochure or content for a website. One of my core skills is to achieve and maintain the right tone of voice for a business from the start.
I’m happy tackling any subject, in fact I love rising to the challenge. From catheters to orchids, marble to solar panels and pulled pork to floor lamps, give me the bare bones and I’ll write you a sonnet.
Social Media
Everyone’s on social media these days. Managing your social media presence is hard work. Big businesses have in-house social media managers monitoring around the clock. For smaller businesses, keeping an eye on social media can be a real chore. I currently manage and support client accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest, not just scheduling but getting involved. I relish understanding who I’m talking to and engage with them on an individual level. Social media is a challenge – it takes someone with real commitment to really talk to followers and get them involved – and also, importantly, to handle complaints well.
Feature Writing
I write features for various magazines in Devon: Devon Life, Exeter Life, Taste Buds, Exeter Living and Devon Home. This is another area where I never quite know what’s round the corner, one month I could be interviewing town bands across Devon, the next, on the trail of a female stonemason in the South Hams.
Video scripting
With a career background as a video scriptwriter and producer, I retain the ability to tell a good story through a script. I have always been skilled at getting a message across in a succinct way, with potential visuals in mind. I don’t do so much scripting now, but I love it when the opportunity arises.
Events
Event work really is going back to my roots as my first job was as an audio-visual hire co-ordinator helping to organise events across the country. I still enjoy occasional event management, ensuring the right crowd turns up, everyone is fed and watered, the event runs smoothly and achieves its aims.
