My business is primarily about using words in the most effectual way, whatever the context.
This is a skill I’ve learned from a lifetime of writing for work and pleasure. The foundation of my career is in video production. For many years I devised concepts, wrote scripts and ran production teams to create documentaries, dramas, comedies and animations for a wide variety of organisations.
After relocating to the South West in 1998 I diversified into writing brochures, newsletters, website copy and features. While providing maternity cover at Nu-Heat Underfloor Heating & Renewables, I discovered I have a flair for PR, now a core element of my business.
The team at Terra Ferma Media in London encouraged me into the world of social media management when they asked me to run Twitter and Facebook accounts and blogs for their travel and tourism clients – oh, and Bear Grylls.
I continue to work with a handful of agencies in Devon and London as well as directly with clients including charities, SMEs and major businesses, and it’s a mix that really seems to work. I offer an ongoing retained service or support for a single project.
